Overview

TBPAClip is a DAW plugin that offers extensive and flexible control over the clip process. The way the clipping is done is easily adjusted, like a soft-saturated or hard-limiting brick wall. In addition, TBPAClip provides a saturator before the clipping stage to warm up the audio material.

By using TBPAClip in your music production process you benefit from the following advantages:

  • single-band/multi-band saturator/clipper in one plugin
  • advanced symmetric and asymmetric clipping functions
  • saturation before clipping, both optional
  • extensive clip tone control
  • x256 oversampling for aliasing free processing
  • parameter modulation at audio rate

In single-band mode, the signal is first sent to the saturation stage and then to the clip stage. Both can be switched on/off individually. The clip stage can work either in single or dual clip mode. The dual clip mode provides individual ceil and tone controls for the positive (P) and negative (N) part of the audio signal.

In multi-band mode, the signal is divided into three bands. Each band has its own input volume, input level meter, saturation/clip stage, mix control, and output volume. The combined signal is then sent to an additional volume control and output level meter.

Saturation

The saturation section controls saturation type, drive and feedback. If the drive control is set to off, the saturation stage is bypassed.

Clipper

TBPAClip provides independent ceil and tone controls for the positive and negative part of the audio signal (dual clip mode) and various clip types.

Multiband

In multiband mode TBPAClip provides 3 bands, each with an individual input, saturation, clip and output stage.

Peak display

The peak display shows the incoming and outgoing signal including ceil levels.

The peak display allows for efficient control of the effect of the clip ceiling level on the signal.

Spectrum display

In multiband mode the spectrum display provides controls for the band level and crossover frequencies.

Clip response display

The clip response display provides comprehensive control over the clip response.

When clip mode is set to 'clip advanced', the shape of the clip response can be extensively changed.

Loudness, saturation and clip score

The loudness information page shows the EBR128 Integrated and Momentary Max Loudness values.

The score page shows the clip and saturation scores. The score values are quantitative measures of the saturation and clipping process and help evaluate the performance of specific tone and drive settings.
